Call for Indigenous Artists
The Union Public Arts and Four Directions is working towards creating a mural on our campus. We are currently searching for Indigenous Artists all across the United States. Our goal for this mural is to: honor the Native lands which our university is currently on; amplify the voices of Indigenous students and faculty; serve as a symbol of Indigenous presence on campus; and to show prospective Native students and faculty that they have a home on our campus. This mural will be hung in the Mizzou Student Center. The space allotted for the mural is 15ft x 15ft (225 sq. ft.). Due to size of the space, we have decided the mural will consist of nine 5ft x 5ft canvas as a grid within the space. We have also come up with a basic idea of what we would like the mural to look like.
